The inconvenience of not having a Pharmacy nearby.
It is sad to see how many, many of the three (3) main Pharmacies (Rite Aid, Walgreens, and CVS) in the United States have closed so many Stores all over the country. In particular, in the City of Philadelphia where I live, it’s really sad.
One day you can visit a not so near Pharmacy. Then the next week it too is closed. You will now have to travel even further to find one that is still open. That often means in the rural areas or “the suburbs.”
Then the way so many items are “locked-up” for security reasons is sad to see as well. I had a not so pleasant experience recently with that point at one of the Pharmacies I liked to use. Most (maybe 90% or more) of the Consumer Products were locked up. No more walking in and selecting what you need or want. Got to ask a Sales Floor Rep for the items who then gives them to the Cashier (not the Customer) so you (the Customer) can pay at the Cashier Counter.
Never thought I would see the day when thieves or shoplifters would cause such drastic changes in the way Pharmacies Operate inside their own Stores. And that does not apply to not just one Pharmacy but to all three as mentioned above. I think they need some better advice on Theft Control System or Operations than what they are doing now. Because what they are doing will not work long term, in my opinion. Closing Stores is one thing but still consistently losing sales and from less customers is another serious problem.
So I say again, it’s sad to see so many Pharmacies closing in the USA, and how the remaining few now Operate.
